Hello from MN

Hello All you ladiez...I am safe and warm in MN at the parents. The electricity went on after two cold nights, but we made it through. Luckily we had a fire place. I am thinking of making sock/glove creatures for Jan. to get some use out of Featherz' new crafty book!

Warm thoughts to Mysticz

Hey Ladies! Spoke with Mysticz today... her power is out! I offered her our couch but she declined as she has a fireplace to keep warm (& her food is out in the snow so it won't spoil). I've been feeling sorry for myself lately because I feel like a shut-in. I keep wandering the apartment in my nightgown, I really want to go to the fabric store or grocery or Splurge but Tunez just shakes his head no :( Being almost 8 months preggo in a snow/ice storm is no fun but after chatting with Mysticz I realize how lucky I am! Give her a call if you get a chance (although I think she has to sit in her car to charge her phone). Hope you all are doing well, stay safe & warm. Sounds like we're not missing much at market.
I think we should do a recipe exchange... it's funny that I don't mind cooking & cleaning, but the major projects I need to tackle here just don't seem to be getting done. Maybe I'll be more motivated after the holidays & the "official" end to the market season.

Idle Thoughts

Hi Ladiez,

This is a random list of thoughts for the group/blog, no particular order. I'm sitting here by the fire so happy to not have to worry about getting to the market today. And I think I'm coming down with a cold from our snow day yesterday. Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later!

So I was adding a few more links to the pages to check out if you are bored section, and I think that I am the only one who can add to it since my "maggie" signin name started the blog. So if there are sites you want to add, email them to me or just post them in a blog and I can add them!

Our January meeting is at Mysticz house, the SECOND tuesday in January, to give her a chance to get back home and settled before hosting us! Project to be annouced, but if Mysticz is too stressed/overwhelmed by the freaking holidays (like we all are), we can always just felt!

I'm glad we've got our little crafty group to get us through the down time before the market starts up! Perhaps one of us will come up with a great "get rich quick" scheme and can share...

Thank you for trying to change the day, but I think that Tuesdays work the best for most and I will just do what I can. I really enjoy just getting out and if I am not able to get anything made I can at least be around and converse. Ayla will keep growing and changing and entertaining herself as she matures.
I will be selling on Friday-? I heard that Sunday was suppose to be bad again?! I have to drive up to Seattle to catch a plane @ 7:00 am the 25th and I hope the weather holds out for that day.
I don't know about you all, but I am broke and do not know how I am going to make it through Jan-Feb. This is the first time in years and is not that comforting.
Hope to see you all this Sat. at least!

On a different note: What did you all think of The Dark Knight? I really did not think it was so great. I really like the Tim Burton Batman movies much better; they were more mystical and prettier and the story more batman like in my eyes...

Friday thoughts & Dreams

I plan to be there on Friday. I was going to do tomorrow but, I need a day to make shiz! Not that I'm running low or anything. It's a disorder... I need an intervention! They were wrong about Today, maybe it will just be rainy????

Hey chicas, check out Saturdays Oregonian in the living/fashion section. Mrs. Viv snapped a photo of me in Lashez's caplet I was coveting! If I had time, I would of worn a mobi on my sleeve, a flower pin on my hat, Mysticz earrings combined with mine and a vinyl bag to tie it all together;) I would of pimped us all out!

Market?

Hey Ladiez,

you all worried about the weather for the market? what are your plans for the end of the season?

Heres my house on sunday, thank goodness we all had enough sense to stay home! I'm hoping that I can still make it down to the festival on friday, but we'll see....

Pioneer Square was wicked today!! Booths were flying, glass was crashing. Featherz & I skipped out early, after we got some card making in;) Ohh and felting too. Crazy Featherz decides she wants to felt a Birthday cake for Micah. Chocolate. It was cute!!!!! She also made a flippin' broccoli!! It feels good to make other shiz for a change. Maybe I'll start a felting card business on the side.... JK;)

See you ladies in 8 hrs. I just have to add that these crafting meets are therapeutic! I think of excuses to cancel because I got deadlines( like all of us), but when I surrender & go, I'm delighted!!!! I'm tickled pink!!

I loved making cards with you ladies! You inspired so much creativity! And, it was really fun watching you become obsessed with the embossing. You girls really liked embossing. I'm sad that Mysticz couldn't stay, but I'm glad you made it for the food and bullshitting portion of the event!

And I'm glad that Paintz was there to keep the zombie hordes at bay on the computer. It would have been a shame if they had gotten in and ruined our card party. Here he is resting after all that work.

Wish I could have stayed...Looks like you all made some fun stuff. I love the red and gold pattern. How was it made?

and a craftytime reminder for us all: next idle hands meeting is at featherz house (me and martha have patched things up, for all who were wondering) at ten a.m., first tuesday of the month so that Vinyalz can make it. We are making holiday cards, or tags, or whatever! So bring: paper, gluestix, scissors, ephemera, string, whatever you can think of!

I've got all sorts of crafty things (as you all know) to use, and i'll be picking up some more holiday colored/themed papers to work with, and some enevelopes! That's all I can think of, see you all this weekend!

So I went to Mill End to get some fabric & felt. I didn't love their selection so I started chatting with a felting "expert" about options. She wanted me to buy colorless wool roving & dye it myself with various vegetables... since I didn't feel that adventurous she suggested I just buy wool yarn (so much cheaper & so many color options). Maybe you all knew you could use wool yarn, but I didn't, so I thought I'd share. Maggie, do you have an opinion on using yarn?
(don't tell anyone but Byron's attempting to felt as I write this :)

Inaugural Idle Bitchez meeting!

Is that how you spell inaugural? I guess it is cause spellcheck liked it. Hey Idle Bitchez, I had a freaking awesome time making some felted birdz with ya! And I am pleased to be the first to post pictures of our party on the blog. Ha!

So, next up is Christmas cards! Or, cause I know some of you have card ideas already that may not require a whole lotta stampin', you can make gift tags, or decorate envelopes, or make thank yous, or who knows what!

Too much social hour makes me crazy!

Well If you didn't sell at the Bank Corp Tower....good move. I would really like to thank the One (Sweet) lady that bought earrings from me. She might have purchased a piece of my soul... Also the ladies that couldn't figure out if I was selling bracelets or earrings, I apologize to those ladies for that shitty look on my face. I might of had a crinkled nose too! I'm working on correcting that.

I did have ALOT of valuable social time with some crafty bitchez! Now I even have an antennae cozy to show for it(Thanks Featherz)! Also, I realized that if I were a dog, I'd be a black lab/ border collie mix. I think people think I'm crazy. Crazy enough to be an idle hands BITCH! Can I throw the word classy in there somewhere? I think Vinylz might swing into our meetings sometime. She's coming around. See you Sat ladies;)

It worked!

I have successfully set up my accout, complete with my flavor of love name! blogs rock! I've also created a title thingy, its not perfect, but it'll due until we make some really cool felties and get photos of them!

reminder: next tuesday, 10 am, Lashes place, if you have any wool yarn in good colors bring it, otherwise, I'll have all the stuff. Oh, and bring $5 for supplies, and a brunchy food item to share!
