Slippers it is!

Thanks for clearing up my confusion featherz! I agree February has appeared quickly! So, looks like we'll be making slippers... I have a template for adult and baby felt slippers. You'll need 1/8 inch wool felt (not sure about the amount of felt). If time permits, I'm gonna make myself, the baby and Byron some and he has size 13 hoofers so I'll probably get a few yards. That also gives me extra fabric if I mess up and maybe enough for those coasters Gemz posted. I'm thinking about needle felting a design onto the slippers, I have some wool yarn here, so bring your needles if you want to do the same. We can also embroider or applique them. Sound good?

Slippers or Lamps?

Hi all! So, I'm cool with making slippers (adult or baby or both!) here at my place, the 1st tues. in February. But I just got an email from Featherz saying we'd meet at Gemz and make string lamps. Which I'm also cool with... so my question is... what do we want to do? I'm totally fine with either, I want slippers and I also want to make a lamp (Gemz's lamps look awesome and I wants some for my house!) Give your opinions please, my idle bitchez :)
*we missed you on Sunday Mysticz! hope all is well!

Felting Baby Slippers

So I read somewhere that we are meeting the first Tuesday of Feb and working on felted baby slippers, right? I checked out her highness' website and saw a very inspiring photo/how to of baby slippers. Super Sweet!!! I also liked the coasters, they look easy, sleek & chic;) This felting addiction is getting worse day by day. I need a 12 step program fast!

Random thoughts about the previous posts!

hey ladiez!

glad the smallz liked the doggie. Ayla really liked the other one I made too.... And I love the idea of making the tile trays, i've actually done that for my mom for christmas a few years ago and its great fun. i think it might be a two day project, since you have to let the glue dry... but i think we may have the time for it!

You can get the trays at Micheals, and I two have alot of glass, and well, the glass cutting supplies too!

See you all Sunday!

Goodies from the Ladies

So I walk in the Splurge today, and to my delight I see a sock doggy and cute box with glass goodies!!!! I don't deserve all this!! It's crazy! Micah loves it and has been holding the doggy named "Paco" and glass goodness in his pockets. I gotta negotiate with him to look at one of them. How do you negotiate with a four year old? Chuck e Cheese is definitely out of the question! It's just not my bag baby. Cup cakes!!

Sorry, back to my topic. Thank you ladies for the treats. I missed crafting with you bitchez! Happy Monday. See you Sunday;)

Bitchez Wanna Make Mosaic Trays Sometime?

Some future IHLA meeting would you guys like to make mini mosaic trays? I read this tutorial and it made me think this would be a fun thing to do together. What do ya think? I have scrap glass coming out my ears, and we would only need some grout and the little trays to decorate, but this could be a very doable, I think :)

February Meet

Ok, so we discussed our February craft day yesterday and I believe we decided to hold it at my place. (I might not fit through my front door soon! And if I go into labor, I can have you crafty ladies drive me to the birthing center, fun!) We also chatted about making felted slippers, I believe I have a few patterns here (and I'll bet Featherz has at least one), I'll figure out the supply list soon. Does this sound good to you all? Oh, and we also talked about doing it on the first Tuesday (Feb. 3rd). Let me know your thoughts!

Sock Animals

Thanks Mystics for hosting such a wonderful get together! Gemz you were missed - feel better soon!

Our sock animals turned out fantastic! From left to right: Ann's Rabbit, Erin's Elephant, Maggy's Dog and my Monkey.
It was fun to see Ayla on her home turf, smiling and dancing and generally hamming it up. You can see she already loves her new bunny rabbit made from stripped gloves.

Tuesday Crafty Day!

Hey all, so I knowz I will see you all on Sunday at Lashez baby shower, but heres the goods on Tuesday!

its at Mysticz house, she'll have to send directions cause I know how to get there, but not how to tell you all how to get there. oh, also get there between 10 and 11 (closer to ten, but I know you all...)

We are making animals out of socks and those strechy gloves you get for $.97 at fred meyers, so bring a selection! here's the shopping list folks:
socks (cute ones, or ones that are missing their friends)
gloves
sewing needles (larger size for use with embrodery floss)
embroidery floss (if ya got it, i've got a ton)
scissors
buttons (for eyes and noses, I've got a bunch of these too)
stuffing (which I also have a bag, but if you've got some laying around bring it!)
felt, fabric scraps, etc for clothes

the book i got shows super cute, silly little animals. its another one of those crafty ideas from japan books i seem to be addicted to these days.

And I know they might be a pain, but I am puppysitting the Ruby over tuesday, and I don't really want to leave those two dogs at home all morning.... but Mysticz house is big, and I think they can run around with Leafus just fine... I don't want that Ruby eating my new leather chair!

See you all Sunday!
Featherz

I'm looking forward to next Tuesday

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone... and shopping for a baby shower present... this was not purchased, but oh the photo is soooo cute!

so remind me - what are we making on Tuesday? am I remembering right that we may be making felted slippers. or did I make that up :)

Last night I bought a colored multi-pack of felt off Etsy. I am itching to felt and I needed more colors.
